welcome home.

Located in historic Monument at 1450 Cipriani Loop, our 19,000 sq. ft. facility offers three dance studios and a state-of-the-art gym.

our journey.

SunDance was established in August 1998 in Monument's Woodmoor Center, starting with 1,000 sq. ft., 40 children, and one instructor. Within five years, our growth led us to expand to over 3,000 sq. ft. with 500 students. Since then, we have moved to our own facility and welcomed many new students and talented instructors.

In both our dance and gymnastics programs, we take pride in our caring and experienced instructors, many of whom have dedicated over a decade to developing our programs. From ballet to hip hop, recreational classes to competitive teams, SunDance offers classes for all ages, from toddlers to adults.

We offer competitive teams in dance and gymnastics, including Elite Ensembles in dance and various competitive gymnastics teams such as girls' USAG DEVO Compulsory and Optional, Boys JO Compulsory, and Xcel Compulsory and Optionals.

SunDance is honored to serve as the host gym for the Palmer Ridge High School gymnastics team.

As we look to the future, we are excited about the impact we continue to make in our community and the growth of our programs.

From everyone at SunDance, we thank you for allowing us to share our passion for dance and gymnastics with your children!

GET TO KNOW US

KATHY & STEVE CLOWES: OWNERS

Kathy and Steve, the heart and soul behind SunDance Studio, have owned, operated, and coached our programs side by side since the very beginning. Recently, they celebrated 38 wonderful years of marriage, a testament to the strong partnership that has shaped our studio’s success.

Kathy wears many hats at SunDance. She teaches dance, coaches gymnastics, and serves as the head coach for the Palmer Ridge High School Gymnastics Team. Her dedication to her students and athletes is truly inspiring.

Steve is a favorite among our youngest gymnasts, especially the little boys in the morning classes, and he also coaches our boys' competitive team. Beyond coaching, Steve is the reason our facility remains spotless day after day, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for everyone.

And while they’ve been at this for over two decades, retirement clearly isn’t their strong suit—they continue to pour their energy and passion into SunDance, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

KAYLA RAPTIS: MANAGER

Kathy and Steve’s eldest daughter. Kayla grew up at SunDance, immersed in both dance and gymnastics. After studying dance at CU Boulder, she returned to SunDance to run the business alongside her parents. As the general manager, Kayla is here to address all your questions and ensure everything runs smoothly. You’ll often spot her greeting you at the door—sometimes with Rio on her back—rushing through the gym to keep things on track, or working behind the scenes during our dance shows.

KIERSTEN CLOWES: COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS COACH

Kathy and Steve’s youngest daughter. Kiersten grew up competing for SunDance as a level 10 gymnast and was a standout leader for The Palmer Ridge Bears. Today, she’s an essential member of our coaching team, leading our high-level DEVO program and serving as the assistant head coach for the Palmer Ridge gymnastics team. Throughout the week, you’ll also find her training the next generation of gymnasts in her morning recreational classes.

RIO RAPTIS:

Rio is Kayla's first child and the first grandchild for Kathy and Steve, making him our third-generation SunDance baby. You might catch a glimpse of him at the door, greeting everyone with a smile, or crawling through the gym and dance rooms. We are incredibly grateful to be raising the next generation in our SunDance home, surrounded by our wonderful SunDance community.
