Venue & Parking

Getting There

All events are at Palmer Ridge High School — not at SunDance Studio.
19255 Monument Hill Rd., Monument, CO 80132
Use the middle entrance to reach the middle parking lot by the bear statue. Upper and lower lots are also available — follow signs to the bear entrance.

Do not park along the loop — you will be towed.

Arrival & Departure

Drop Off & Pick Up

Volunteers in black "Sundance Recital Staff" shirts will escort your dancer backstage. Please tell them your child's room: Black Box or Choir Room. You will receive a separate email with your student's room assignment.

Black Box

Released from the left-hand hallway, farthest from the cafeteria. Pick up must be done by a parent in the lobby — not a sibling. Curbside pickup is not permitted.

Choir Room

Pick up directly from the choir room via the cafeteria on the right-hand side of the auditorium. Please form a line — dancers are released as parents reach the door.

Parents are not permitted to view the dress rehearsal. Please drop off and leave, or wait in the cafeteria. Your dancer will remain for the full rehearsal.

The auditorium has assigned seating. Please sit in the seat listed on your ticket. After dropping off your dancer, you are welcome to get in line to enter the auditorium.

What to Bring

Backstage Preparation

Applies to both dress rehearsal and recital day.

  • Dancers must arrive in full costume, hair, and makeup
  • Bring a large plastic bag labeled with your dancer's name to keep belongings together backstage
  • Pack dance shoes inside the bag rather than in a separate dance bag
  • Write your dancer's name inside their shoes in case they are misplaced
  • Please do not send extra items such as toys, games, or snacks
  • Upon arrival, your dancer will be taken by a designated backstage helper

Purchasing Tickets

Every person attending — including children — must have a ticket. Tickets go on sale May 1st. You will receive an email with a direct purchase link.

In the Theater

Recital Etiquette

Find your seat quickly when the theater lights dim
No food or drink in the theater
Silence your cell phone before the show begins
No flash photography
Applause is always welcome — please no yelling or calling out dancers' names
Please limit getting up and down during a performance
Kindly step out with a crying or disruptive child
When the show ends, please exit and take all belongings with you

  • I know my dancer's costume(s) for each dance
  • I have the correct shoes for the recital

  • I've prepared a labeled plastic bag for backstage
  • I've written my dancer's name inside their shoes
  • I've purchased tickets for everyone attending
